Emily Barkley
Emily Barkley MSc in Counseling, LMHCA
(she/they)
Emily is a queer therapist who received their Master of Science in Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy Concentration) from California State University, Fullerton, in 2025. She completed her clinical practicum at the LGBTQ Center of Orange County (CA), where she became experienced in working with queer and trans clients, including those in non-monogamous relationships.
Emily’s approach to therapy is feminist-infused narrative and attachment work. She helps clients explore the stories they’ve learned about what it means to be themselves, what it takes to be loved and accepted, and what gets in the way of that. They enjoy helping folx with relational issues, LGBTQIA+ identity development, grief, trauma, anxiety, and self-image.
Emily is a cat lover (please show her pictures of your pets) and loves movement, particularly through pole dance, aerial arts, and yoga. They love to join with clients in the absurdity of life and integrate humor into the therapy space.
